Amazon Studios has unveiled the trailer for "The Tomorrow War," a sci-fi action film led by Chris Pratt, set to premiere on Prime Video on July 2. The story is framed around time travelers arriving from the year 2051, issuing an urgent plea for Earth's present population to combat a future alien threat. Chris Pratt stars as Dan Forester, a high school teacher and former military man, who partners with a scientist, portrayed by Yvonne Strahovski, and his estranged father, played by J.K. Simmons, in a desperate bid to save humanity. The star-studded cast includes Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Edwin Hodge, Jasmine Mathews, and Ryan Kiera Armstrong.

The film originates from Skydance Media and had initially been planned for a theatrical release under Paramount Pictures. However, amid pandemic-related disruptions in the theatrical industry, it was acquired by Amazon for $200 million. Produced by heavyweights such as David Ellison and Adam Kolbrenner, and executive produced by Chris Pratt himself, the movie carries significant anticipation and underscores Amazon's commitment to competing for blockbuster status in the streaming wars.
